BetMGM inks multi-year partnership with Newcastle United
The leading joint venture between gaming and entertainment giants Entain and MGM Resorts International, BetMGM, clinched a new multi-year partnership in the United Kingdom. The leading iGaming and betting brand that is a newcomer to the UK market announced it forged a partnership with Newcastle United, the famous soccer club competing for the Premier League and one that is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear. Under the terms of the freshly minted partnership, the betting and iGaming operator was designated as an official club partner for the 2023/24 season. As a result, BetMGM is expected to benefit from increased exposure via St. James’ Park. The partnership with Newcastle United comes after last month, the experienced betting brand announced the launch of its online casino and sportsbook in the UK. Seeking to strengthen its presence and raise awareness of its exceptional products and offers, BetMGM confirmed that the famous comedian, Chris Rock, is leading its national ad campaign. He unveils details regarding different activations the iGaming and betting operator offers, including Golden Goals, a free-to-play game that features a £2m ($2.45m) prize for predicting six correct Premier League scores, among other bonuses and price boosts. Sam Behar, BetMGM’s UK director, was excited about the company’s new partnership with the globally-recognized soccer team. In a statement, he explained: “Newcastle United’s re-entry into the world’s elite this season is a golden moment for the football club and its incredible fans.” Behar added that BetMGM is proud to be among the betting partners of Newcastle United for the upcoming season. Finally, BetMGM’s UK director pointed out: “With our launch in the UK, it is fantastic to have Newcastle United as part of our stable of Premier League partner clubs. The team’s ambition and drive perfectly align with our growth strategy and we can’t wait to get started.” Peter Silverstone, Newcastle United’s chief commercial officer, was similarly thrilled regarding the new partnership with BetMGM. “We are delighted to be introducing BetMGM as an official club partner,” he said. Silverstone explained that the betting and iGaming brand already has a presence in the city of Newcastle with its office. Finally, he said: “We are very pleased to be taking this step together and I’d like to welcome BetMGM to our growing family of partners.” In addition to the UK, BetMGM has established a strong presence across the United States. On the other hand, the BetMGM international-branded offering uses technology from LeoVegas, the famous gaming company from Sweden that was acquired by MGM Resorts back in 2022.
