Editorial team
The editor writes as Eleanor Hartley, openly a pseudonym. The roles behind each page and the document-only method they follow.
All British Casinos is edited by Eleanor Hartley, the editor responsible for every page on the site. Eleanor Hartley is a pseudonym, and the portrait beside the name is a drawn avatar, not a photograph. We say so openly because a guide that asks readers to check the small print should not have small print of its own.
Why the editor uses a pseudonym
Writing about gambling operators by name can bring unwanted contact, both from parts of the industry and from people looking for shortcuts the site will not provide. A pen name keeps the focus on the documents rather than on the person. It does not change accountability: the editor is responsible for what is published, and corrections go through the same address as any other message on the contact page.
Roles behind each page
| Role | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Editor | Sets the method, signs off every page and decides on corrections |
| Terms researcher | Reads operators' terms and conditions, bonus rules and help-centre pages and records each fact with its quote |
| Register checker | Matches each operator to the Gambling Commission public register: licence holder, account number, activities and domains |
| Regulation researcher | Tracks Gambling Commission rules, advertising rules and their dates in force |
| Subeditor | Checks every figure against its source and the page against the advertising rules before publication |
A document-based method
The team works only from public documents. We do not open accounts, deposit, withdraw or play, and pages never claim otherwise. Every operator fact on the site traces back to a quoted source: the register, the operator's terms, its bonus rules, its help centre or its app store listing. Where a document does not say something, the page says that rather than filling the gap. The scoring method shows how those facts become a score out of 10.
Independence
Operators do not review or approve pages, and affiliate income has no bearing on scores or rankings, as set out in the advertising disclosure. The team writes for adults in Great Britain and covers only operators licensed by the Gambling Commission.
