UK casino sites 2026: online casinos licensed in Great Britain
Every licensed online casino type in one place, with what the Gambling Commission register and the casinos' own terms say about each.

Casino sites in the UK are legal only if the company behind them holds a remote casino licence from the Gambling Commission, and that is the first filter for every online casino in this section. Beyond the licence, British online casinos differ mainly in their terms: how bonuses are wagered, how fast and by which methods they pay out, and what limits they let you set. This hub groups licensed casino sites by those differences so you can start from the one that matters to you.

What makes an online casino legal in Great Britain
Since the Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) Act 2014, the test is where the player is, not where the operator is based. Any internet casino whose games can be used in Great Britain needs a Gambling Commission licence, and offering or advertising gambling here without one is an offence. That is why this guide lists no casino without an active GB licence, whatever its offer looks like.
A few register details are worth understanding:
- Account number. The Commission's identifier for the licensed business. One account can hold several licences, for example casino, bingo and betting.
- Licence holder. The company legally responsible. A brand can trade on another company's licence, and responsibility for compliance stays with the licence holder.
- Activities. "Casino" means the account may offer casino games remotely. A "game host" licence is a business-to-business licence and does not allow a company to take bets from you.
- Domains. The websites the licensee has notified to the regulator. If a site's address is missing, ask why before you deposit.

Several of these brands share a licence holder. MONOPOLY Casino, Virgin Games and Jackpotjoy all trade under Gamesys Operations Limited (account 38905), while Magical Vegas, Bella Casino and Mecca Games sit with Rank Interactive (Gibraltar) Limited (account 57924), so their cashier and withdrawal rules look alike. The reviews of MONOPOLY Casino and Unibet Casino show how far two high-scoring sites can still differ on offer size and wagering.
Casino sites in the UK by what you need
Most people looking for an online casino have one priority in mind. The pages in this section each answer one question and rank operators on the facts that decide it:
| If your priority is | Section | What the terms sheet checks |
|---|---|---|
| Getting paid quickly | Fast withdrawal casinos | Pending period, payout methods, published processing times |
| Bonuses you can actually withdraw | No wagering casinos | Offers paid as cash, caps on winnings, spin value and expiry |
| Small deposits | Low deposit casinos | Minimum deposit by method and minimum to qualify for the offer |
| Recently launched brands | New casino sites | Licence start, licence holder and track record on the register |
| Brands outside the big groups | Independent casino sites | Who holds the licence and how many brands share it |
| Return to player | Best payout casinos | Published RTP information and game mix |
| Larger stakes | High roller casinos | Deposit caps, withdrawal limits and VIP terms |
There are also pages for live dealer casinos, mobile casinos and apps and real-money play in general. All of them are listed at the end of this page.
Reading a casino's terms before your first deposit
The terms that cause most complaints are rarely hidden; they are simply long. Four parts deserve a careful read on any casino site:
Bonus rules
Since 19 January 2026 wagering on bonus funds cannot exceed 10x at a GB-licensed casino. That still leaves plenty of variation: some offers wager the bonus only, some exclude e-wallet or prepaid deposits, many cap what bonus winnings can turn into, and most expire within days. Each of these is a significant term and should sit beside the offer, not several clicks away.
Withdrawal rules
No Gambling Commission rule sets a maximum payout time, so the operator's own terms are all you have. Look for the pending period, whether the first withdrawal needs verification documents and which methods can receive money. Reverse withdrawals - cancelling a pending payout to keep playing - have been banned at GB sites since 31 October 2021.
Account and verification terms
Your age and identity are checked before you can deposit. Operators may also ask for documents later, for example to confirm where large deposits come from. A casino that promises "no ID" is not describing how licensed sites work.
Safer-gambling terms
Every GB casino has to prompt you to set a financial limit before your first deposit, and from 30 September 2026 gross deposit limits must be on offer. The better terms sheets also show reality checks, time-outs and how long self-exclusion lasts.
Signs of a good online casino in the documents
Good online casinos tend to look similar on paper. The licence holder is named in the footer with its account number. The welcome offer states its wagering as a number and says what it applies to. The cashier lists minimum deposits by method. The help centre explains pending periods in hours or days, not "as soon as possible". And the safer-gambling page says plainly how to set limits, take a break and join GAMSTOP. Where a site is vague on any of these, the score in its casino review reflects it.
A good casino site will not promise that you will win, and nothing on this site does either. Every game has a built-in house edge; the most a well-run casino offers is clear rules and the tools to stay in control.

- High roller
High stakes at GB-licensed casinos: where stake limits apply, what VIP offers may and may not do, and which operators publish deposit and payout terms.
- Independent casinos
Casinos whose licence holder runs only its own brand, identified from the domains each Gambling Commission account lists, with how to check any site yourself.

Questions readers ask
How can I tell if a British online casino is licensed?
Look in the footer for the licence holder's name and Gambling Commission account number, then search that number on the Commission's public register. The register lists the licensed activities and the domains the business has notified.
Are all online casinos in the UK on GAMSTOP?
Every operator licensed by the Gambling Commission for online gambling has had to take part in GAMSTOP since 31 March 2020. A single GAMSTOP exclusion therefore covers all of them.
What is the difference between a casino brand and a licence holder?
The brand is the name on the website; the licence holder is the company the Gambling Commission has licensed. Several brands can trade under one licence holder, and that company remains responsible for each of them.
Is there a legal limit on how long a casino can take to pay out?
No Gambling Commission rule sets a maximum payout time. Pending periods and processing times come from each operator's own terms, which is why they are recorded on every terms sheet.
