Casino payment methods UK 2026: cards, e-wallets and mobile payment

Every common casino deposit method in Great Britain, which licensed casinos list it, and the limits, exclusions and payout times to know.

The main casino payment methods in Great Britain are debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Pay by Bank (open banking, often through Trustly), prepaid Paysafecard vouchers, the e-wallets Skrill and Neteller, and mobile payment that adds deposits to your phone bill. Credit cards are not among them: they have been banned for gambling in Great Britain since 14 April 2020. Which methods a casino accepts, which ones can receive withdrawals and which ones are excluded from offers all differ by operator, so this hub explains each method and shows where it appears in the terms sheets.

18+ only. Set a deposit limit before you choose a method - our responsible gambling guide shows how.

Casinos with published payment terms

These licensed casinos list their payment methods in public documents, so the methods in the table come from the operators' own pages.

"Usually" reflects how these methods tend to work; the operator's cashier and terms decide in each case. MuchBetter has its own page, though no terms sheet here lists it yet. Revolut Pay is a newer arrival: Sky Vegas, Sky Bingo and Midnite all name it in their cashier pages.

Mobile payment casinos: paying by phone bill

A phone payment casino lets you add a deposit to your mobile bill or take it from pay-as-you-go credit, using services such as Boku or Payforit-style carrier billing. You confirm by text message, so no card details are entered. Two things set this method apart:

  • Low caps. UK mobile networks limit charge-to-bill payments to £40 per transaction and £240 a month per account under payment services rules. Individual casinos may set their own lower limits.
  • Usually deposit-only. Money cannot normally go back to your phone bill, so you need a second method, such as a debit card or bank account, for withdrawals.

Among the casino sites that accept mobile payment in this guide, Amazon Slots lists Pay by Mobile in its cashier. Mobile payment slots work like any other deposit once the money arrives: the same £5 stake limit per spin applies, or £2 if you are 18-24.

Credit cards and other banned routes

The credit card ban covers both direct card payments and e-wallets topped up with a credit card. BetMGM's terms, for example, state that credit cards are not accepted, including through digital wallets. Cryptocurrency is not an option either: GB-licensed casinos do not accept crypto. Payment methods popular elsewhere, such as the Dutch iDEAL system, do not appear in any GB terms sheet here.

How deposits and withdrawals usually work

Minimum deposits

Minimums are set per method. Mecca Games lists £10, or £5 with Apple Pay; Midnite lists £5; Sky Vegas sets no minimum for Pay by Bank; Coral lists a £5 minimum for Google Pay and caps single deposits at £2,000. Welcome offers often need a higher amount than the cashier minimum.

Payout times

No Gambling Commission rule sets a maximum payout time. Published times vary widely: the Gamesys brands, such as MONOPOLY Casino, process requests within 4-24 hours, with Visa Direct payouts inside 4 hours; Sky Vegas pays Pay by Bank withdrawals immediately and Visa within 1-4 hours; the Rank Interactive brands say most withdrawals are paid within 15 minutes through Fast Withdrawals, with other cards taking 1-3 working days; Pub Casino lists up to 24 hours for PayPal and Trustly; Wink Slots gives an average of 5-7 days depending on the method. See fast withdrawal casinos for the full comparison.

Payment exclusions on offers

Welcome offers often exclude certain methods. The Rank Interactive brands exclude Paysafecard deposits from their offers, and Pub Casino's offer terms exclude Skrill deposits. Going the other way, Unibet Casino's welcome offer accepts only debit card or instant bank transfer deposits, and Betfred requires a debit card for its welcome offers. An excluded method is a significant term and must sit next to the offer.

Choosing the right method for you

For most players the simplest set-up is one method that handles both deposits and withdrawals, such as a debit card, PayPal or Pay by Bank, so that winnings return to the same place. Prepaid vouchers and phone billing can help keep spending contained, but they still need a withdrawal route. Whatever you choose, the deposit limit you set when you register applies across every method.

All payment guides

  • Apple Pay

Five UKGC-licensed operators take Apple Pay. Some pay out to it, one is deposit-only, and the card behind your wallet still has to be a debit card.

  • Debit Card

Visa and Mastercard debit cards are accepted almost everywhere in GB. Credit cards are not, and card payout times vary widely between operators.

  • Google Pay

Coral is the operator on this site whose help centre documents Google Pay. Here is how the method works, its limits and where withdrawals land.

  • MuchBetter

None of the licensed operators covered here lists MuchBetter in its payment pages. Here is how to check a cashier and what to use instead.

  • Neteller

Neteller is a niche option at GB casinos. One operator here lists it, and first-deposit exclusions are the term to watch.

  • Pay by Phone

Phone bill deposits are small by design: networks cap them at £40 a payment and £240 a month. Here is how pay by mobile works at licensed casinos.

  • PayPal

Seven UKGC-licensed operators list PayPal in their payment pages. Here is how PayPal deposits, withdrawals and bonus terms work in practice.

  • Paysafecard

Five UKGC-licensed operators accept Paysafecard deposits. It is prepaid and deposit-only, and three welcome offers exclude it outright.

  • Skrill

Skrill is accepted by fewer GB casinos than PayPal, and it is a frequent exclusion in welcome terms. Here is what the operators' documents show.

  • Trustly

Trustly moves money straight between your bank and the casino. Pub Casino names it, and other operators offer similar instant bank transfers.

Questions readers ask

Can I use a credit card at a UK casino?

No. Credit cards have been banned for online gambling in Great Britain since 14 April 2020, and the ban also covers e-wallets funded by a credit card.

What are the limits on phone bill deposits?

UK mobile networks cap charge-to-bill payments at £40 per transaction and £240 a month per account. A casino may apply its own lower limits on top.

Can I withdraw casino winnings to my phone bill?

Usually not. Pay by mobile is normally deposit-only, so you will need a debit card, bank account or e-wallet to receive withdrawals.

Do UK casinos accept cryptocurrency?

No. GB-licensed casinos do not accept crypto, and this guide lists only operators licensed by the Gambling Commission.

Why is my payment method excluded from the welcome offer?

Many operators exclude prepaid vouchers or e-wallets from bonuses. The exclusion is a significant term and should be shown next to the offer.
