The Residence Casino review: a former GB listing, now Anjouan

The Residence Casino is run by BlockBets Entertainment Limitada under an Anjouan licence. Its old GB register listing is Inactive, so it has no GB licence today.

Our verdict

No GB licence

The Residence Casino's old GB domain listing is Inactive and the current Costa Rica operator holds an Anjouan licence, so it has no active Gambling Commission licence.

Worth knowing

  • No active Gambling Commission licence
  • Former GB listing now marked Inactive
  • No GAMSTOP participation
  • No UK stake limits or approved ADR

The Residence Casino does not hold a current Gambling Commission licence. Its domain was once listed under a Commission account, but that listing is now marked Inactive, and the site today says it is owned and operated by BlockBets Entertainment Limitada of Costa Rica under a licence from the Autonomous Island of Anjouan. This review of The Residence Casino explains why a past listing does not help a player now.

From a GB account to an Anjouan licence

The register files of 2 November 2026 show the domain theresidencecasino.com under account 57869, held by Grace Media (Gibraltar) Limited, with the status Inactive. The current site names a different business entirely: BlockBets Entertainment Limitada, registration number 3-102-909291, licensed by the Government of the Autonomous Island of Anjouan, Union of Comoros, under licence ALSI-202412013-FI1. There is no active GB listing for that operator.

What "Inactive" means on the register

The Commission's domain list sorts addresses into Active, Inactive and White Label. Only an Active listing shows a domain in current use under a licence, so an Inactive entry gives no GB cover today. In plain terms, the casino name survived but the British licence link did not. A reader who remembers The Residence Casino as a GB-licensed site, or finds an old page saying so, should rely on the register as it stands today.

A pound option is not a GB licence

The site lists GBP among its currencies but gives no explicit statement on whether UK players are accepted. Currency choice proves nothing about licensing. Under the Gambling Act 2005, a site whose gambling is used in Great Britain needs a Commission licence, and without one a British player would be outside:

  • GAMSTOP, which all GB-licensed online operators must join;
  • the slot stake limits of £5, or £2 for players aged 18 to 24;
  • the 10x cap on bonus wagering from 19 January 2026;
  • the free ADR service available after eight weeks or a deadlock letter.

Older accounts and stopping

The site now names a different operator from the business that held the GB account, so British protections cannot be assumed for any account there. If you want to close it or stop gambling, GAMSTOP covers licensed sites, and blocking software such as Gamban, which GamCare names, can cover others. Our complaints guide sets out what UK routes exist and which operators they bind.

Checking any casino's status

Look for the account number in the footer and search it on the register, then confirm both an Active status and an Active domain. Our guide to checking a casino licence covers each step. Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over, and our responsible gambling page lists free help, including the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133.

Questions readers ask

Is The Residence Casino licensed in the UK?

Not at present. Its domain appears on the GB register only as an Inactive listing under a former account, and the current operator holds an Anjouan licence, not a Commission licence.

Who runs The Residence Casino now?

The site names BlockBets Entertainment Limitada, a Costa Rica company, licensed by Anjouan under licence ALSI-202412013-FI1.

Does The Residence Casino accept UK players?

The site lists GBP as a currency but gives no explicit statement either way. Without a Commission licence it is not authorised to serve Great Britain.

Is The Residence Casino part of GAMSTOP?

GAMSTOP covers operators with an active GB licence. A site run under an Anjouan licence falls outside it.
