Vave review: a crypto casino with no UK licence

Vave is a crypto casino and sportsbook with no Gambling Commission licence. It cites an Anjouan licence without a published number.

Our verdict

No GB licence

Vave holds no Gambling Commission licence and cites only an Anjouan licence with no published number, so it is not authorised to serve Great Britain.

Worth knowing

  • No Gambling Commission licence or GB account number
  • No GAMSTOP link and no UK slot stake limits
  • No approved ADR provider for disputes
  • Payments and complaints sit outside UK law

Vave is a crypto casino and sportsbook that launched in 2022, and it does not hold a licence from the Gambling Commission. Without that licence the brand is not authorised to take bets from anyone in Great Britain, so this Vave review is a licence check rather than a rating.

The site cites a licence from the Anjouan Gaming Board but publishes no licence number for it. Since 2024 the brand has been run by a company registered in Costa Rica, which took it over from an operator registered in Curacao. Neither the brand nor a matching domain appears in the Commission's register files of 2 November 2026.

Who stands behind Vave casino

Whoever runs Vave, there is no GB account number, so there is no licence holder answerable to the Commission. A licence from Anjouan, with or without a number, gives no authority to serve Great Britain: under the Gambling Act 2005 a site used by GB players needs a Commission licence wherever it is based.

Vave for UK players: the protections that are missing

Offering remote gambling in Great Britain without a Commission licence is an offence, and the Commission says its consumer protections apply only where the business holds its licence. So a self-exclusion through GAMSTOP, which every GB-licensed online casino must join, does not reach Vave. The £5 slot stake limit, and the £2 limit for 18 to 24-year-olds, do not apply there. Nor do the 10x cap on bonus wagering or the credit card ban. If something goes wrong, there is no approved ADR provider and no Commission to complain to, and payments and disputes are handled outside UK law.

The Commission also warns that unlicensed sites often skip age checks, block payouts and put personal data at risk.

Why this page lists no bonus, promo code or app

People do look for a Vave bonus, a promo code, free spins or the Vave app, and the answer here is deliberately blank. Advertising gambling that needs a GB licence the operator does not have can itself be an offence under section 330 of the Gambling Act, and an offer from an unlicensed site comes without the bonus rules that bind licensed operators. The casino bonuses guide explains how wagering caps and significant terms work under UK rules.

Checking a casino before you trust it

A licensed site shows its account number, usually in the footer. Search that number on the Commission's register, confirm the status is Active, that Casino is among the activities and that the site's domain is listed. The steps are set out in how to check a casino's UK licence, and the A-Z of casino reviews marks every brand as licensed or not.

Help if gambling is getting hard to control

Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over. GAMSTOP blocks access to every GB-licensed gambling site for 6 months, 1 year or 5 years, as explained in how GAMSTOP works. The National Gambling Helpline, run by GamCare, is free on 0808 8020 133 at any hour, and more support routes are on the responsible gambling page.

Questions readers ask

Does Vave hold a UK licence?

No. Vave cites an Anjouan licence without a published number, and that gives it no right to offer gambling in Great Britain.

Does Vave have sister sites?

The register holds no account for Vave or its operator, so there is no group of GB-licensed sister brands to compare it with.

Who runs Vave now?

Since 2024 the brand has been run by a company registered in Costa Rica, which took it over from a Curacao-registered operator. Neither holds a Gambling Commission account.

Are crypto casinos like Vave allowed under UK rules?

A crypto-only casino that takes GB players is unlicensed for Great Britain by definition. The Commission treats cryptoassets as a high-risk payment method for money laundering.
