Hacksaw Gaming slots: licence, RTP builds and key games
Hacksaw Gaming's GB licence, its best-known slots, why its games come in several RTP settings and what that means at a UK casino.

Hacksaw slots come from Hacksaw Gaming, a studio founded in 2018 and headquartered in Stockholm, whose British licence is held by its Maltese subsidiary HGMT Limited under Gambling Commission account 54059. It makes slots, scratchcards and instant-win games and runs them on its own game server. Its best-known titles include Wanted Dead or a Wild, Chaos Crew and Le Bandit. The point to remember with Hacksaw is that most of its games come in several RTP settings, so the return depends on the casino as much as on the game.

Who is behind Hacksaw Gaming
Hacksaw Gaming is part of Hacksaw AB (publ), which is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm in the Large Cap segment. The company says it was founded in 2018 and began by building its remote gaming server (RGS) - the platform that runs the game logic and sends results to the casino. In 2023 it opened that platform to other studios on a business-to-business basis, so third-party developers can now release games on Hacksaw's technology. The licensed operating company, HGMT Ltd, has its registered address in Zebbug, Malta.
In October 2026 Hacksaw announced a UK partnership with Bally's Intralot, which it describes as strengthening its presence in the UK with a selection of its slots added to that platform.
Hacksaw Gaming's GB licence in detail
The Gambling Commission (UKGC) register lists HGMT Limited under account 54059 with remote licence 054059-R-331396-007, covering two activities: Gambling Software and Game Host (Casino), both active since 2 October 2019. The domain hacksawgaming.com is notified to the Commission against the same account. Hacksaw's own licence statement names the same account number alongside its Malta Gaming Authority licence.
Those two activities let Hacksaw supply games to British casinos and host them on its servers. They do not let it take bets from players: the casino you play at holds its own remote casino licence and is responsible for your account, your deposits and any bonus.
Hacksaw slots worth knowing
- Wanted Dead or a Wild. A western-themed game released in 2021 with three different bonus rounds and expanding wild reels. Hacksaw rates it 4 out of 5 for volatility; the spec card on its review page covers the details.
- Chaos Crew. Its game page centres on the bonus game, which other markets can reach through a bonus buy.
- Le Bandit. Its game page describes switching from day to night to reach the bonus rounds through a buy menu, again a feature from other markets.
- Duel at Dawn and Le Pharaoh. More recent releases from the slot catalogue.
Going by Hacksaw's own descriptions, the bonus round is usually the focus of its games, and the one with a full spec card here, Wanted Dead or a Wild, is rated high volatility. That usually means long dry spells between meaningful wins. If you prefer frequent small wins, the studio is probably not the best fit, and our guide to slot volatility explains how to read the signs before you choose a stake.
Why the same Hacksaw game can return different amounts
Hacksaw ships its games in several RTP settings and the operator picks which one to run. Wanted Dead or a Wild, for example, is listed with builds of 96.38%, 94.55%, 92.33% and 88.42%. Over a long run of play, the gap between the highest and lowest of those is large: roughly eight pence in every pound staked.
The RTP you see quoted in reviews or videos is usually the highest build. The one that applies to you is the figure in the game's information or help screen at your casino. Check it each time you try a Hacksaw game at a new casino, because two sites can run different builds of the same title. Our guide on return to player explains what the percentage does and does not tell you.
Bonus buy and other features in the British versions
Hacksaw's own game pages describe a bonus buy feature that lets players pay to go straight to the bonus round. The GB specification for Wanted Dead or a Wild records that bonus buy is not available to UK players, and availability of feature buys at British casinos has not been confirmed from a first-party source for other titles. Treat any bonus buy shown in an overseas video as something you may not see.
Other British rules apply to Hacksaw exactly as to any studio. The maximum stake on an online slot is £5 per spin, or £2 if you are 18-24. Autoplay, turbo and slam-stop are banned, a slot spin must take at least 2.5 seconds, and since 17 January 2025 the same design rules extend to other online casino products, including the real-time display of your net spend and time played. Our stake limits guide sets out the dates.
Scratchcards and instant-win games
Hacksaw describes itself as a supplier of slots, scratchcards and instant-win games. These resolve in a single reveal rather than a series of spins, which makes them quick to play and easy to lose track of. A deposit limit and a session reminder help here. If scratchcards interest you, see our page on online scratch cards for how they work at GB casinos.
Finding Hacksaw games at a GB casino
None of the operators reviewed on this site currently names Hacksaw Gaming in its published provider list, so this page has no casino list. That does not mean the games are absent: lobby line-ups change frequently, and many casinos do not publish a full studio list at all. The practical approach is to search the lobby for a specific title, open its information screen to check the RTP build, and only then decide whether to play. Demo versions, where a casino offers them, require a verified account, because GB-licensed sites must check your age before you can play demo games.
18+ only. High-variance games can use up a budget quickly; set a deposit limit first and see our responsible gambling page for time-outs, reality checks and GAMSTOP.
