Reel King Mega slot: mini slots, the King's Crown and a 500x ceiling

Red Tiger's low-volatility take on the Reel King brand: 20 lines, up to five 3-reel mini slots and a crown that turns symbols wild.

If you want a slot built around steady, modest returns rather than huge swings, Reel King Mega is a clear example. The Reel King Mega slot is a Red Tiger game on 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 lines, with low volatility, an RTP of 96.17% and a top win of 500x the stake. Its signature feature turns the reels gold and sends in up to five Reel Kings, each spinning its own small slot of 7s.

Which Reel King is this?

The Reel King name belongs to Novomatic, and several games use it. This one was released in May 2019 and is credited to Red Tiger under licence of that brand, although some listings name Barcrest. It is not Novomatic's own Reel King, which has a 94% RTP, and it is not Reel King Megaways or Reel King Grand Chance. Those are separate titles with different specs, so check the game name in the casino lobby carefully.

The Reel King feature and its mini slots

At random, the main reels turn gold and up to five Reel Kings appear. Each one carries a 3-reel mini slot that spins 7s, and each mini slot always pays. Prizes run from 2x the stake for a mix of different 7s up to 25x for three red 7s. With five kings in play at once, those small wins add together, which is how the game reaches its higher results.

The King's Crown and the gamble option

The second feature is the King's Crown, which hits symbols on the reels and turns them into wilds. More wilds mean more chances to complete lines on that spin. There is also a gamble feature for some wins; like any gamble option, it trades a win you already hold for an uncertain result, and declining it is always possible.

What low volatility means for this game

Low volatility usually means more frequent, smaller wins and fewer long dry runs. The other side is the ceiling: 500x the stake is modest compared with high-volatility slots. RTP is a long-run average, and some operators run lower-RTP builds of this game (one review lists 96%), so open the help screen to confirm the figure on the version you see. The slot volatility guide explains the trade-off in more detail.

Reel King Mega demo and the free-play rules

No game is embedded on this page. A Reel King Mega demo can be found on Red Tiger's own site or in demo mode at a licensed casino, which must verify your age and identity before letting you use free-play versions. The casinos listed on this page carry Red Tiger games; search the lobby by the full title. More from the studio is on the online slots hub.

In Great Britain the maximum stake on an online slot is £5 per spin, or £2 if you are 18 to 24. Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over; the responsible gambling page covers limits and support.
