Wildstorm in the base game
Most spins are ordinary 243-ways spins: matching symbols on adjacent reels from the left pay wherever they land. Now and then Wildstorm strikes at random and turns up to five reels wild. A full five-reel Wildstorm is the base game's biggest moment, and it cannot be triggered on demand.
The Great Hall of Spins and its four levels
The design idea that made Thunderstruck II popular is progression. The first visits to the Great Hall of Spins offer one free spins feature, and further features unlock as you trigger the hall again. Between them, the four features offer a 5x multiplier, extra wilds, raven multipliers or rolling reels. The game tracks your triggers, so the full set of features is only open to players who return to it over time - a reason to set a limit on time as well as money.
Thunderstruck II RTP and the 8,000x top win
The listed RTP of 96.65% describes the long-run return across many millions of spins, not what a session will pay. Medium volatility sits between frequent small wins and rare large ones, and 8,000x is the ceiling rather than a typical result. The RTP guide explains why a session can land far from the headline figure. At GB-licensed casinos the stake on online slots is capped at £5 per spin, or £2 for players aged 18 to 24.
Mega Moolah, Wild Lightning and Stormchaser
The Thunderstruck name now covers several games. Thunderstruck II Mega Moolah links the game to a progressive jackpot, covered on the Mega Moolah page. Thunderstruck Wild Lightning and Thunderstruck Stormchaser are newer titles with their own features and maths. The figures on this page apply only to the 2010 Thunderstruck II. Its stablemate Immortal Romance uses a similar 243-ways layout with a vampire theme.
Finding Thunderstruck II and trying it in demo mode
Several licensed casinos list Microgaming or Games Global among their providers; they appear beside this review. Search the lobby by title, and open the game's help screen to check the build. This site does not embed demos: licensed casinos may offer a demo mode, but GB-licensed sites verify your age before you can deposit or play demo games.
