75-ball bingo: cards, patterns and how it works

How the 5x5 card in 75-ball bingo works, the patterns used for prizes, how game length and odds compare with 90-ball and 80-ball, and what to check in a room.

75-ball bingo is played on a 5x5 card headed B-I-N-G-O, with 24 numbers and a free space in the centre. Instead of lines and a full house, each game has a pattern announced before the first call - a line, four corners, a letter, a picture or the whole card - and the first player to complete it wins. The format comes from North America and is offered in GB bingo rooms as a quicker alternative to the traditional 90-ball game.

For the formats side by side and the operators, see the online bingo sites hub. This page explains the 75-ball card, the patterns and how they change your odds.

The 75-ball card

Each column draws from its own range of 15 numbers:

ColumnNumbersSquares on the card
B1-155
I16-305
N31-454, plus the free centre square
G46-605
O61-755

The free space counts as marked from the start, which is why any pattern through the centre needs one number fewer. Calls are usually given with the column letter, such as "N 34", so you can find the number quickly; online, auto-daub marks it for you. Most rooms let you hold several cards at once and sort them by how close each one is to the current pattern, so even a large number of cards is easy to follow on screen.

Some rooms run progressive patterns, paying a smaller prize for a simple shape first and a larger one for a bigger shape later in the same game. The pattern is shown on screen before the game starts, often with an animation of the winning shape. Check it every game, because it changes.

The traditional British format is 90-ball, explained on our 90-ball bingo page. 80-ball sits between the two, with a smaller card and quick games.

Game length and your odds

As with all bingo, your chance of winning a game is roughly your share of the cards in play. If 300 cards are sold and you hold 6, you have about a 2% chance. The pattern changes how long the game lasts and how often there are shared wins: simple patterns such as four corners can be completed by several players on the same number, so prizes are split more often - a £20 prize won by four players on the same call pays £5 each - while a blackout takes many more calls and rarely ends in a tie. A blackout jackpot within a set number of calls is especially hard to win, which is why it can be large.

Where 75-ball bingo is offered

Among licensed operators with verified details, Amazon Slots lists 75-ball bingo alongside 90-ball and 80-ball rooms. The other bingo operators in this guide describe their bingo in general terms - Coral's bingo games with chat, tombola's 90-ball rooms and its own formats such as Pulse and Reel Bingo, Costa Bingo's bingo rooms - so check a site's room timetable to see whether 75-ball games are running and at what ticket prices.

Before you buy 75-ball tickets

  1. Read the pattern for the game and whether it is progressive.
  2. Check the ticket price, the maximum cards you can hold and how the prize is set.
  3. Read any jackpot condition, such as the number of calls allowed.
  4. If you use bonus funds, check whether bonus tickets share the prize pool; GB rules cap wagering on bonus funds at 10x from 19 January 2026, and the bingo bonuses page explains the other terms.
  5. Set a deposit limit before your first purchase.
