90-ball bingo: tickets, prizes and how to play online
The traditional British bingo game in detail: how a 90-ball ticket is built, what a strip is, the three prizes, how odds work and where it is played online.

90-ball bingo is the traditional British game. Each ticket carries 15 numbers between 1 and 90, spread across three rows, and every game pays three prizes: one line, two lines and a full house. Online 90 ball bingo works the same way as in a club, except that numbers are drawn by a random number generator and marked off automatically. At GB sites it is offered under a Gambling Commission remote bingo licence, which is separate from a casino licence.
The online bingo sites hub compares the main formats and the operators. This page is about the 90-ball game itself: how a ticket is built, how prizes and odds work, and what to check in a room before you buy.

How a 90-ball ticket is built
A ticket has nine columns and three rows. Each row holds five numbers and four blank squares, giving 15 numbers per ticket. The columns are fixed ranges:
| Column | Numbers |
|---|---|
| 1 | 1-9 |
| 2 to 8 | 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 |
| 9 | 80-90 |
Tickets are usually sold in strips of six. A full strip contains every number from 1 to 90 exactly once, so whatever is called, one of your six tickets will have it. Buying a strip does not change the odds per ticket; it simply means you mark something on every call.
The three prizes in a 90-ball game
- One line - the first player to complete any single row of five numbers.
- Two lines - the first to complete any two rows on the same ticket.
- Full house - the first to mark all 15 numbers on one ticket. This is the main prize.
The game carries on after each prize is won, so the same game produces three winners or more. If two or more players complete a prize on the same number, the prize is normally split between them; the room rules state how. Prize amounts are either fixed in advance or a share of ticket sales, and the room shows the figure before you buy. Some rooms add a jackpot for a full house inside a set number of calls, which is won rarely because a full house usually needs far more calls.
Your real odds in a 90-ball room
Bingo odds come down to one fraction: your tickets divided by all tickets in play. If 400 tickets are sold and you hold 8, you have about a 2% chance of the full house, and the same share of each line prize. Three practical points follow:
- A cheap room with many players has lower odds per ticket but often a bigger prize pool.
- Buying more tickets raises your chance and your cost in the same proportion. It does not make a ticket better value.
- A quiet room can offer better odds, but the prize may be smaller if it depends on ticket sales.
Online features in 90-ball rooms
- Auto-daub marks your numbers as they are called, so you cannot miss a win.
- Best-ticket sorting moves the tickets closest to a win to the top, with labels such as "1TG" (one to go) or "2TG".
- Pre-buy lets you buy tickets for games later in the day. Check whether pre-bought tickets can be cancelled and what happens if you are offline when the game runs.
- Chat is part of the appeal for many players, with hosts and small chat games. Traditional calls survive here: "legs eleven" for 11, "two little ducks" for 22, "top of the shop" for 90.

Bonuses and 90-ball tickets
Since 19 January 2026 GB rules cap wagering on bonus funds at 10x and ban single offers that mix bingo with another product type, such as slots. Bonus-funded tickets can also work differently from paid ones: tombola's terms say bonus funds used for tickets do not add to the game prize pool, and that a player alone in a game using bonus funds may find there is no game prize to win. Check those terms before you rely on bonus tickets. The bingo bonuses page covers the rest.

Questions readers ask
How many numbers are on a 90-ball bingo ticket?
15, arranged in three rows of five across nine columns. Each row also has four blank squares.
What is a strip in 90-ball bingo?
A set of six tickets that together contain every number from 1 to 90 exactly once, so every call marks a number on one of your tickets.
What does 1TG mean?
One to go: the ticket needs one more number to win the current prize. 2TG means two to go.
What happens if two players win on the same number?
The prize is normally shared between them. The room rules set out how prizes are split.
Is 90-ball bingo slower than 75-ball?
Usually, yes. A full house needs all 15 numbers on a ticket from a pool of 90, while many 75-ball patterns need only a few numbers.
