Where Rise of Egypt sits in the series
The Eye of Horus family started as a Reel Time Gaming design published by Blueprint, and it has grown into a long list of versions. This page covers Rise of Egypt only. The original Eye of Horus and Eye of Horus Megaways are separate games with their own returns and rules, and so are the other spin-offs. The Blueprint page for Rise of Egypt does not state the grid, the top win or a volatility rating, so those are not quoted here; the paytable in the game gives them for the build you see.
Expanding Horus wilds in the base game
As in the earlier games, Horus is the wild and appears on reels 2, 3 or 4. When he lands, he expands into a stacked wild covering the reel. With ten fixed lines, one expanded reel in the middle of the screen can complete several lines at once. Two or three in the same spin are what the base game is built around.
Upgrades, scatters and the wild multiplier
The free games keep the upgrade mechanic the series is known for. Each wild that lands upgrades the next highest paying symbol to the top symbol, so the screen fills with more valuable symbols as the round goes on. The new element is a collection: gathering 4 scatters during free spins awards extra spins and a wild multiplier. That gives the round a second track to follow alongside the upgrades, and it is the main reason to treat Rise of Egypt as its own game rather than a reskin.
94.5% or 93%: checking the build
Two returns are listed: 94.5% and 93%. A casino chooses which build it offers, and the difference does not show on the reels, only in the game's help or information panel. Neither figure says anything about a single session; the RTP explained guide goes into why.
Stakes follow a similar pattern of sheet versus reality. Blueprint lists £0.10 to £100 a spin, but a GB casino must keep each spin within £5, or £2 for players aged 18 to 24 (see slot stake limits).
Free play and the Rise of Egypt demo
The Eye of Horus Rise of Egypt demo is searched for far more often than the game itself, so it helps to know where it officially lives. Blueprint previews its titles on its own website. In Great Britain a casino demo is possible only for a verified account: operators have had to confirm age and identity before any play, free or paid, since May 2019. With so many Eye of Horus versions in circulation, a demo is also a quick way to confirm that the scatter collection is present and you have the right game. Nothing is playable on this site. More about the provider is on the Blueprint Gaming slots page.
The casinos shown with this page carry Blueprint games, though which Eye of Horus versions each one runs is for its lobby to confirm. 18+ only. Limits and help are on the responsible gambling page.

Not from the reels. The game's information panel states the RTP of the build in use, either 94.5% or 93%.
How do symbol upgrades work in the free games?
Each wild that lands upgrades the next highest paying symbol to the top symbol, so more of the screen pays at the highest value as the round continues.
How does Rise of Egypt differ from Eye of Horus Megaways?
