Eye of Horus Megaways slot review: 15,625 ways and upgrading symbols

Blueprint's 2019 Megaways version of the Egyptian classic keeps expanding wilds and upgrading symbols on six reels with up to 15,625 ways.

Blueprint Gaming released Eye of Horus Megaways on 19 November 2019 as a six-reel version of the Egyptian classic, using the Megaways engine licensed from Big Time Gaming. Each reel shows up to five symbols, for up to 15,625 ways to win, and the top win is 10,000x the stake. The best RTP build is 95.49%. The Eye of Horus Megaways slot keeps the wilds and upgrades of the original but forms its wins in a very different way.

From five reels to Megaways

The original Eye of Horus is a five-reel, three-row game; the story of that version is in the Eye of Horus review. The Megaways edition keeps the theme and the main features but changes how wins form. The number of symbols on each reel varies from spin to spin, so the number of ways changes too, peaking at 15,625 when every reel shows its full height. The Megaways slots page explains the mechanic in more depth.

Expanding wilds in the base game

The Eye of Horus symbol is the wild. When it lands on reels 2 to 5 it expands to fill the reel as a stacked wild, which can link several ways at once. It is the feature carried over most directly from the five-reel original, now working across a larger and changing number of ways.

Eye of Horus Megaways free spins and upgrades

Three or more scatters trigger the Free Games, with up to 12 spins awarded. During the round, Horus symbols that land add extra spins and upgrade the high-paying symbols, up to five of them. Each upgrade replaces a lower premium symbol with a higher one for the rest of the round, so the paytable is worth reading before the feature starts.

Four builds, and a volatility figure Blueprint leaves out

Blueprint lists four builds: 95.49%, 93%, 92% and 90%. Some independent listings show 95.02% for the game, so the figure shown in the game's information screen is the one to rely on at a given casino. Blueprint does not publish a volatility rating, and the spec card leaves it out; independent ratings place it at medium to high. The slot volatility guide explains what that means for a budget.

Stakes for UK players

The game's bet range runs from £0.10 to £10. In Great Britain the upper part of that range is not available: since 9 April 2025 adults can stake at most £5 per game cycle on an online slot, and since 21 May 2025 the cap for players aged 18 to 24 is £2. No bonus buy appears among the game's listed features, so free games come from scatters. The guide to slot stake limits has the full rules.

Free play and where the game is listed

There is no Eye of Horus Megaways demo on this site, which does not host games. Free play is available through the provider's channels or in demo mode at licensed casinos, and GB rules have required age and identity checks before any free-to-play version since 7 May 2019. Licensed casinos that name Blueprint among their providers are listed beside this review, and the Blueprint Gaming slots page covers the studio. Where an offer includes bonus spins on a Blueprint slot, its wagering is limited to 10x the bonus amount, a rule in force since 19 January 2026. Play only if you are 18 or over; the responsible gambling page lists the tools available.
