No deposit bonus offers at UK casinos: how they work in 2026

A no deposit casino bonus needs no payment to claim, but it is usually small and capped. How the offers work in Great Britain and what to check.

A no deposit bonus is a reward for opening a casino account that you can claim without paying anything in: a small amount of bonus cash, a few spins or an entry to a prize game. At casinos licensed by the Gambling Commission these offers are uncommon and deliberately small, with a maximum win and, where wagering applies, a requirement of no more than 10x since 19 January 2026. Of the operators with readable terms on this site, one currently does: Sky Vegas credits spins on registration before any deposit. The table below puts it first and then shows the lowest-deposit offers, which all need a deposit and a stake.

The no deposit offer on this site right now

Sky Vegas, run by Bonne Terre Gaming Limited under Gambling Commission account 65519, combines a registration offer with a deposit one: 50 bonus spins on registration, no deposit, then 200 bonus spins after depositing and staking £10.

Significant terms

No wagering on free-spin winnings; 7-day spin expiry; £10 deposit and stake within 30 days of registration; spins loaded on the first eligible game chosen; existing Sky Betting & Gaming customers excluded

Two details matter more than the headline. The spins carry no wagering, so winnings are paid as cash, but they expire after 7 days. And the offer is closed to existing Sky Betting & Gaming customers; Sky Bingo trades on the same Gambling Commission account, so check your status before you register.

The forms a casino bonus without deposit can take

FormHow it is creditedUsual limits
Bonus cashA small balance added after registrationWagering up to 10x, maximum conversion to cash, game restrictions
Free spinsSpins at a fixed value on a named slotMaximum win, expiry, sometimes wagering
Prize game entryA free spin of a wheel or a free-to-play game with prizesPrizes set by the operator, often bonus spins

Spins are the most common of the three, and they have their own guide on free spins with no deposit. This page covers the wider picture, including why "free bets" and "free bingo" are separate questions.

Why a no deposit casino bonus is smaller than it looks

An operator that gives away bonus money with no deposit in return limits its cost through the terms. Three conditions do most of the work.

  • Maximum conversion. The amount of bonus winnings that can become cash is capped, sometimes at a level close to the bonus itself.
  • Wagering. Bonus funds may have to be staked several times before converting. GB rules cap this at 10 times the bonus funds.
  • Eligible games. Bonus funds often count only on certain slots or instant games; table games may be excluded or count for less.

Put together, a £5 no deposit bonus at 10x means £50 of stakes before conversion. On games that return less than is staked, the expected balance at the end of that play is lower than £5, and the cap limits the upside.

Verification comes before any bonus

Since 7 May 2019 licensed casinos must verify your age and identity before you can deposit, gamble or play free versions of games. A free bonus on registration is therefore only usable after those checks. Operators may also ask for documents before paying out a withdrawal. A site advertising bonuses with "no verification" is not operating under Great Britain's rules and should be avoided.

Free bets and free bingo with no deposit

Free bets are a betting product, not a casino one, and this guide covers casinos only. Since 19 January 2026 a single incentive may not cover more than one gambling product type, so a sign-up offer can no longer bundle free bets with casino spins. If you see both in one promotion at a GB-licensed site, check the terms carefully, as each product's offer should now stand on its own.

Free bingo is a similar case: bingo is its own product type under the rules, and any bingo offer sits apart from casino ones. The online bingo guide explains how bingo sites in Great Britain structure their games.

No deposit versus low deposit: which is more useful?

A no deposit offer lets you see a casino's lobby and cashier without spending, which has some value. A low-deposit offer gives more play for a small, fixed amount of your own money, and its terms are usually easier to compare. Apart from the first row, the offers below all need a deposit and a stake.

Checking a no deposit offer before you register

  1. Find the licence holder and the Gambling Commission account number in the site's footer.
  2. Look up that account on the Commission's public register and check the casino licence is active and the domain is listed.
  3. Read the significant terms: maximum conversion, wagering, eligible games and expiry.
  4. Check whether the offer needs an opt-in or a code at registration.
  5. Set a deposit limit when prompted, even if you plan not to deposit.

18+ only. A no deposit bonus is a low-cost way to look around, not a source of income, and it can lead to deposits you had not planned. The responsible gambling page explains limits, time-outs and GAMSTOP.

Questions readers ask

What is a no deposit bonus?

A casino offer you can claim after registering without paying anything in, usually a small amount of bonus cash or a few spins, with a maximum win and sometimes wagering of up to 10x.

Can you keep what you win from a no deposit bonus?

Only within the terms. Winnings may need to be wagered first and are usually limited by a maximum conversion or win cap.

Are no deposit bonuses available at UK casinos in 2026?

They exist but are uncommon and small. Sky Vegas is one current example; most GB-licensed casinos use deposit-based spins or deposit matches as their welcome offer.

Are winnings from a no deposit bonus taxed?

No. Gambling winnings are not taxed in the UK, whether they come from a bonus or from your own stakes.

Can a casino offer include free bets as well?

Not since 19 January 2026. An incentive may cover only one gambling product type, so casino and betting offers must be separate.
