NetEnt slots: games, ownership and UK casinos
NetEnt's best-known slots, the mechanics it introduced, how it sits within the Evolution group and which GB casinos list its games.

NetEnt slots are the video slots made by NetEnt, a studio that has been building online games since 1996 and has belonged to the Evolution group since 2020. Its catalogue includes some of the longest-running games in British lobbies - Starburst, Gonzo's Quest, Divine Fortune and Twin Spin - and it is credited with mechanics that most studios now use. Below: how NetEnt fits into the Evolution group and the Gambling Commission register, the NetEnt games worth knowing, and which GB casinos list them.

NetEnt, Evolution and the GB register
Evolution acquired NetEnt in 2020, in the same deal that brought in Red Tiger. NetEnt now operates as one of the group's brands alongside Evolution's live casino, Red Tiger, Ezugi and Big Time Gaming.
If you search the Gambling Commission (UKGC) public register for NetEnt, you will not find it: the register shows no entry under the NetEnt name, trading name or domain. The group holds a GB licence through Evolution Malta Holding Limited, account 41655, covering remote Gambling Software and Game Host (Casino). The NetEnt website footer names Evolution Gaming Malta Limited, a Maltese company, and points to the Evolution group's licences. The register itself does not state which group entity supplies NetEnt games to British casinos, so this page does not either.
For a player, the practical check is the casino. Every GB-licensed casino must hold its own remote casino licence, and our guide on checking a casino's licence shows how to confirm one.
Mechanics NetEnt brought to online slots
Evolution's description of the studio credits NetEnt with introducing some of the first modern slot mechanics, including two-way paylines, respins and expanding wilds, which then became standard across the industry. It also created Avalanche, in which winning symbols are removed and new ones cascade down to form further wins on the same spin. Today most studios have their own version of cascading reels under a different name; NetEnt's is the original Avalanche.
You can see those ideas in two of its best-known games. Starburst pays both ways and uses expanding wilds that trigger a respin, with no free spins round at all, which is why it is rated low volatility. Gonzo's Quest is built on Avalanche reels with a multiplier that climbs with each cascade, and higher multipliers in its Free Falls feature.
NetEnt games list: the titles to know
| Game | Style | Review |
|---|---|---|
| Starburst | Low volatility, expanding wilds with respins, wins both ways | Starburst review |
| Gonzo's Quest | Avalanche reels with rising multipliers | Spec card on its review page |
| Divine Fortune | Falling wilds plus a jackpot bonus game with three jackpots | Spec card on its review page |
| Dead or Alive 2 | High volatility, sticky wilds in a choice of free spins modes | Spec card on its review page |
| Blood Suckers | Low volatility, tripled wins in free spins and a pick bonus | Spec card on its review page |
| Twin Spin, Starburst XXXtreme, Finn and the Swirly Spin | Other well-known titles from the studio | - |
Starburst XXXtreme, a newer title built on the Starburst name, was among the games Gates of Olympus beat to the Slot of the Year 2022 award. The individual reviews for Divine Fortune, Dead or Alive 2 and Blood Suckers carry the GB figures for RTP and maximum win.
Best NetEnt slots for different budgets
NetEnt's older games are a useful counterweight to the high-variance releases that dominate many lobbies. Starburst and Blood Suckers are both rated low volatility, so wins come more often and in smaller amounts, which suits a longer session on a modest budget. Gonzo's Quest and Divine Fortune sit in the middle. Dead or Alive 2 is the outlier: high volatility, with most of its return concentrated in the free spins. Our guide to slot volatility explains how to match a game to your budget. Whatever you choose, online slots at GB casinos are capped at £5 per spin, or £2 if you are 18-24, and autoplay and turbo spins are not available.
NetEnt casinos in the UK
Among the operators reviewed on this site, Magical Vegas, Amazon Slots, Pub Casino and LuckyMate name NetEnt in their published provider lists; LuckyMate also lists Red Tiger, the other studio Evolution bought in the same deal. Lobby line-ups change, so search for the game itself before you deposit.
Some welcome offers use NetEnt games. Amazon Slots' current offer is Chance to win up to 500 bonus spins on Starburst, and its significant terms are set out below.
18+, new players, £10 min fund; bonus spins winnings subject to 10x wagering; max bonus conversion equal to lifetime deposits up to £250; only bonus wagers count
The offer belongs to the casino, not to NetEnt. Under GB rules from 19 January 2026 wagering on bonus funds is capped at 10x, but caps on winnings, eligible games and expiry still differ between casinos.
NetEnt free spins and no deposit offers
Searches for "NetEnt free spins" or a "NetEnt no deposit bonus" are really about casino promotions that happen to use a NetEnt game. Studios do not issue bonuses; casinos do. In Great Britain an offer may only be called free if you do not have to deposit or stake your own money to get it, and genuine no-deposit spins tend to be low in value with tight caps. Our pages on bonus spins explain what the significant terms usually say.
NetEnt roulette and table games
NetEnt also makes RNG table games, including roulette, alongside its slots. These are software games rather than live dealer tables, which are a separate product covered on our Evolution page. Table games are not covered by the slot stake limit, but since 17 January 2025 every online casino game in Great Britain must take at least 5 seconds per game cycle and show your net spend and time played. GB-licensed casinos verify your age before you can play demo versions too.
18+ only. Set a deposit limit before you play and see our responsible gambling page for the tools every licensed casino has to offer.
