Gates of Olympus 1000 slot review: x1,000 multipliers explained

Pragmatic Play's December 2023 remake keeps the Zeus grid and lifts multiplier symbols to x1,000, with a top win of 15,000x the stake.

The number in the title tells most of the story. Gates of Olympus 1000, released by Pragmatic Play on 14 December 2023, keeps the six by five Zeus grid of the 2021 original and lets its multiplier symbols reach x1,000. The top win rises to 15,000x the stake, the volatility is high and the best RTP build is 96.50%. Most of the Gates of Olympus 1000 slot will be familiar from the original, so the sections below separate the old from the new.

Features

  • Scatter pays: 30 symbols on a 6x5 grid
  • Multiplier symbols up to x1,000 (the '1000' in the title)

RTP can be set lower by some casinos; the game's own help screen shows the figure that applies. 18+ only.

What stays the same as the 2021 game

The grid holds 30 symbols, six reels of five, and pays on scatter rules: matching symbols win wherever they land once enough appear, with no paylines to follow. The theme, symbol set and overall flow follow the original, which is described in the Gates of Olympus review. Anyone who knows that game will find the controls and the paytable layout familiar.

Where the x1,000 comes in

The change is in the multiplier symbols. In the original their values stop at x500; in the 1000 edition they go up to x1,000. That higher ceiling is the reason the maximum win has moved to 15,000x. It also widens the range of outcomes between a quiet session and an exceptional one. The high volatility rating reflects that spread, and the slot volatility guide explains what it means for the length of a budget.

Gates of Olympus 1000 RTP by build

Three builds are in use: 96.50%, 95.51% and 94.50%. A casino chooses one and the information screen inside the game names it. That is worth reading before a session, because a two-point gap in return adds up over a long run of spins. RTP is an average over a very large number of plays and says nothing about the result of any one session.

Bet range and the GB stake cap

The minimum bet is £0.20. Published sources give the maximum as £100, although one game information panel shows a higher top bet, so the in-game menu is the reference. For GB players neither figure applies: since 9 April 2025 the stake on an online slot has been capped at £5 per game cycle for adults, and since 21 May 2025 at £2 for players aged 18 to 24. These caps cover any optional extra stake as well. The slot stake limits guide explains the rules.

Gates of Olympus 1000 demo and real-money lobbies

This site has no playable games, so a Gates of Olympus 1000 demo is not available here. The official versions come from the provider's channels and from licensed casinos with a demo mode. Since 7 May 2019 GB-licensed operators have had to verify age and identity before opening any free-to-play game, so a demo at a UK casino starts with the same checks as a real-money account. Licensed casinos that name Pragmatic Play among their providers appear beside this review.

Choosing between the Olympus versions

Pragmatic has built several games on this grid. The Super Scatter edition adds scatters that pay on the trigger and has a 50,000x ceiling, and a Christmas version of the 1000 game also exists. Each has its own RTP builds and maximum win, so the title on the lobby tile matters. When bonus spins are offered on any of them, wagering on bonus funds is capped at 10x the bonus amount since 19 January 2026. Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over; the responsible gambling page lists deposit limits, GAMSTOP and support.

Questions readers ask

What does the 1000 mean in Gates of Olympus 1000?

It refers to the top multiplier symbol, x1,000, compared with x500 in the original game.

What is the maximum win on Gates of Olympus 1000?

15,000x the stake. At the GB adult maximum of £5 a spin, that would be £75,000.

Does every casino run the 96.50% build?

No. Builds at 95.51% and 94.50% are also in use. The game's information screen shows which one the casino runs.

Is Gates of Olympus 1000 harder to win on than the original?

Both are high volatility. The 1000 version has a higher ceiling, which spreads results more widely, but no slot can be made easier to win.
